Masako Harada, PhD
Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering
Dr. Harada earned her B.Sc. in Molecular Genetics from King’s College London, followed by a Ph.D. in Experimental Oncology from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. She completed postdoctoral training in Cancer Chemotherapy at Stanford University before joining Michigan State University as an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in July 2017.

 

Sunyoung You, BSc
Graduate Student,Biomedical Engineering
SunYoung is a first-year Ph.D. student from South Korea. She earned her B.S. in Physiology and Human Biology at Michigan State University. Previously, she worked in a cystic fibrosis lab as an undergraduate research assistant, developing a detection method for CF mutations using AS-PCR. Outside of the lab, she enjoys working out, visiting local cafés, and watching shows.

 

Jayadeep Yedla
Undergraduate Researcher, Lyman Briggs College Summer 2025 Research Scholar, Gloss Undergraduate Research Award
Jayadeep Yedla is a junior at Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs College, majoring in Genomics and Molecular Genetics and Human Biology, with a minor in French. He is passionate about science and medicine, and plans to pursue an MD or an MD-PhD after graduation to combine clinical practice with biomedical research. Beyond the lab, he works as a teaching assistant for microbiology, volunteers in both clinical and community settings, and enjoys playing volleyball, reading, and watching shows.

 

Yuki Kawai Harada, MSc
Research Assistant,
Yuki brings extensive expertise in amplification-based nucleic acid detection for molecular diagnostics, with a distinguished background spanning both industry and academic research. His specialized knowledge encompasses advanced methodologies for nucleic acid amplification and their application in diagnostic platforms. He leads efforts in EV production and characterization and investigates EV functions to advance our understanding of their biological roles and therapeutic potential.
