TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH USING EXTRACELLULAR VESICLES
(EXOSOMES, MICROVESICLES AND MORE)
Extracellular vesicles (EVs), such as exosomes and microvesicles, are lipid-bilayer enclosed structures, which play important roles in intercellular communication by transferring materials including DNA, RNA, proteins and metabolites between cells from different tissue of origin.
Our current interest is to elucidate biology and mechanisms of these vesicles in human biology and diseases, and further, to use them for disease diagnosis and treatment.
In an excellent collaborative environment in IQ – Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, our goal is to propose new approaches to treat diseases and improve human health.
