TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH USING EXTRACELLULAR VESICLES

Extracellular vesicles (EVs), heterogeneous populations of lipid-bound nanoparticles, are secreted by all cell types from every organism and detected in all body fluids. In recent years, EVs have received increasing attention due to their role in cell-cell communication via the transport of functional biomolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and metabolites.

Our lab is interested in understanding the biology and mechanism of these EVs in human biology and diseases and further utilizing them for disease diagnosis and treatment.

In an excellent collaborative environment in IQ – Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, our goal is to propose new approaches to treat diseases and improve human health.
